Dr. Shruti Kankaria has been registered with the College of Psychologists of Ontario (CPO) since 2016 and is licensed by CPO to work with children, adolescents, adults and couples. Dr. Kankaria received her doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology from the University of Indianapolis, Indiana, U.S.A.
Dr. Kankaria uses an integrative approach to treatment, utilizing evidence-based treatment models such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Client-Centered Therapy, Emotional-Focused Therapy, and Strength-Based approaches.
In a supportive setting through a collaborative therapeutic relationship, she validates your inner experiences in a manner that aids self-awareness. She endeavors to promote change through a warm and compassionate environment that assists safe exploration, re-evaluation and discovery of strengths. Dr. Kankaria values your journey and understands that many things (including family, culture, and upbringing) have contributed to making you unique. She understands that coming to treatment is not an easy step and is willing to work with you to improve your life.
Dr. Kankaria has worked with individuals across all ages in a variety of settings, including community mental health, university counseling centers, and private practices. Dr. Kankaria especially enjoys helping individuals and couples who may be struggling with: depression, mood, anxiety, relationship difficulties, interpersonal difficulties, stress and fatigue, sexual identity, gender concerns, life and cultural transitions, grief and loss, ADHD, and learning disorders. She welcomes all diverse ethnic, racial, and religious backgrounds as well as sexual orientations and gender identities.
Dr. Kankaria has lived in five countries and is fluent in English and spoken Hindi and Urdu.
